Born on 3 April 1973 in Sant Sadurní D’Anoia (Alt Penedès), Montserrat embarked on her career in March 1995 as a basic social services worker on the District Council of Alt Penedès, in 8 municipalities of the
district.
In 2006 she started to work as a basic social services coordinator and in November 2007, she was appointed Head of the Social Welfare Service of the District Council.
In 2010-2011 she worked as the Sub-Director for Programming of the former ICASS (Social Services Institute) where she assisted in creating a basic social service model in Catalonia.
From 2012 to February 2021 she continued to work as Head of the Social Welfare Service of the District Council of Alt Penedès.
In March 2021 she joined the Municipal Council of Vilafranca del Penedès as the Social Services Director, a position that she still holds at present.
She has worked as a lecturer on the Master’s Degree Programme in Integrated Primary Care Services Management at the IL3
Social and Hospital Services Vocational training Centre, Universidad de Barcelona.
She is a member of the Government Integrated Social and Health Care Advisory Board.
